Lessons learned (and learned hard)
In my research, I typically rely on a few number of tools a lot, especially NCL and running CESM. I started to realise that a lot of the time, I was fixing the same issues (either a bug in the code which needs working around or addressing some error message) again and again (and again). So I recently created these ‘lessons learned’ cheat sheets which can help me quickly understand and fix these issues when I undoubtedly run into them again in the future. I am sharing what I have learnt in the hope that this can help you save some wasted hours (and unnecessary headaches).
